WEEK AHEAD: Everything Going On Below Canal Street (1.11.18)
Welcome to this week's edition of Week Ahead, your rundown on everything going on below Canal Street this weekend and coming week. We’ve vetted and collected the best events (many are FREE!) for you on the Life Below Canal calendar. Here are a few of our favorite events/activities coming up...
-Friday 1/12 - America's Running Roots Tour (Spot required) - Explore the roots of America through events that occurred in New York City from the time the city was an early Dutch Settlement, through British Rule, Revolution and the birth of a new Nation. Some stops include the Wall Street, Fraunces Tavern, City Hall, Rhinelander Sugar House, the African Burial Ground, Trinity Church and more.
-Saturday 1/13 - Ryan Maguires - Grab a pint at this local Fidi favorite and check out our interview with them here.
-Sunday 1/14 - Pizza Party (RSVP Required) - Check out one of Eataly's great free family classes and learn how to make a pizza. Spots are first come first served so email firstname.lastname@example.org
Don’t forget about these ongoing exhibits to check out on your long weekend:
-Sunset, Sunrise (Revolution) (FREE) - This temporary public art installation at Pier A Plaza is an interactive, large-scale sculpture designed specifically for the site. It consists of 27 aluminum panels embedded with 9,000 crystal prisms activated by natural light, and is based on a previous, three-panel installation in Austin, Texas, titled Hyperprism. The artwork will be on view through the summer of 2018 in front Pier A Harbor House, located at 22 Battery Place and the Hudson River.
