LOCAL PROFILES - Vildana Kurtovic: Conrad New York (6.25.18)
One of our favorite hotels in New York City (it was HQ for our wedding!) is the Conrad New York. Between the spectacular views, the incredibly kind staff (true story - we often stop by the lobby to let our son play when the weather is mediocre...last time we were there, a very kind staff member gave him a Conrad stuffed animal he takes everywhere), the awesome amenities, and great food & drink options (oh hi Loopy Doopy), it's a must-try for when you have guests come to town or even want to indulgle in a staycation.
We spoke with Vildana Kurtovic, Assistant Director of PR and Marketing, to learn more about what makes the Conrad New York so special, whether you're a local or a visitor below Canal Street...
Tell us about the Conrad...
Conrad New York is located in the heart of Battery Park City in lower Manhattan. It is the only all-suite luxury hotel in Lower Manhattan! We also have the largest conference space and a unique partnership with Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events. Additionally, we are known for our 2,000 pieces of art and our popular Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar with the original Prosecco and Ice Pops.
What makes the Conrad unique?
Our location is unlike most hotels in NYC, right along the water and in close proximity to the North Cove Marina, as well as top shopping destinations Brookfield Place and Westfield World Trade Center.
What's new at the Conrad this summer?
We have a brand new cocktail menu for the 2018 Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar season, including new flavors of our Prosecco and Ice Pops. We are also offering our new Conrad Sip and Sail package, featuring a stay and brunch and views of the NYC harbor aboard a sail boat.
What should locals expect when they come to the Conrad?
Amazing value and service as the top hotel in lower Manhattan. The largest suites in downtown with views of Hudson River, a beautiful way to enjoy a staycation. Also, a very locally-inspired and sustainable selection of menus at our ATRIO Wine Bar & Restaurant.
What is your favorite part of the neighborhood?
A walk along the promenade next to Conrad New York in the summer time, best spent with an iced coffee and seat on a park bench—just taking in the views and the NYC ambiance.
