EVENTS: Inside the Tribeca Greenmarket 5.17.17

We all know local, organic, sustainable (etc.) food is all the rage below Canal. We have large chain stores that cater to the availability of these premium ingredients like Whole Foods and then we have our own little farmer’s market (or booths set up on a sidewalk since this is Manhattan after all) in southern Tribeca. Whenever possible, I like to buy in (literally and figuratively) to the shop local and all of the other aforementioned labels for healthier food for my family.

It’s a real treat to be able to peruse local vendors without having to trek up to Union Square, so here’s the down low on the market. Tribeca Greenmarket offers locally grown produce, sustainably raised meat, seafood, sheep's milk cheese and yogurt, orchard fruit and berries, herbs, live plants and cut flowers. You can also find cooking demonstrations, raffles, and educational activities that make the market a hands-on experience for shoppers of all ages. We will keep you updated on events at the greenmarket, so stay tuned.

Tribeca Greenmarket is also home to both clothing and compost collections from  8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m, an added bonus! Read more below:

So whether you want to pick up one ingredient quickly for dinner, flowers for yourself on a whim or the fixings for an entire gourmet meal, the greenmarket has you covered. Let us know your top picks from the greenmarket in the comments! Personally, there is nothing better for me than fall apple and concord grape season. A macoun apple and a giant container of concord grapes (and a cup of hot apple cider to walk around with while I browse) is truly my heaven. Happy marketing!
