OPENINGS/CLOSINGS: Y7 Tribeca (4.2.18)
With so many incredible fitness studios below Canal Street, you never have an excuse to get bored with your workout. The latest challenge to come to Tribeca? Y7, a beats driven, sweat dripping flow-focused yoga studio featuring candle lit classes with incredible soundtracks. We are such fans of the studio that we used to trek uptown (by uptown we mean 23rd street) to make it to a class. So, you could imagine how excited we were to learn Y7 had made it's way downtown, and went straight to the source, Y7's founder Sarah Levey, to learn more...
What inspired you to open a studio in Tribeca?
We really wanted a location downtown, on the west side and Tribeca is the perfect neighborhood, there are so many cool things happening in the neighborhood. The community there is just amazing.
What is unique about the Tribeca studio?
The Tribeca location is our first ground floor location in Manhattan, has exclusive merch and a selfie booth.
What should locals know about Y7?
It is not your traditional yoga studio. We turn the lights off, turn the music and heat up and flow breath to movement. Come ready to work.
What are your favorite spots below Canal Street?
I love Two Hands for an amazing meal anytime. The Jason Scott store is also a block away from us - they have amazing basics and a beautiful space. One of my favorite fitness studios, the Bari Studio, is also right down the street.
