So what inspired the creation of Shop for a Cause? According to Lauren Young, Chief Administrative Officer, Brookfield Properties and Co-Chair, Brookfield Women’s Network, “We think it is essential for Brookfield to be an active and supportive part of the communities in which we invest, both by creating inviting places that bring people together and by supporting local initiatives and organizations that are making a positive impact. Shop for a Cause touches on both elements. The response to the one-day event last year was tremendous, and we raised more than $10,000. This year, we’ve extended the program to a full-week and more than doubled the number of retailers participating to 37, and we hope to raise more money for an incredible cause – the Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care at NYU Langone’s new Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, which opens later this month.”

About Brookfield Women’s Network: Brookfield Women’s Network is aimed at recruiting, retaining and developing talented women across Brookfield and helping to enhance Brookfield’s connection to local communities and organizations in both the public and private sectors. Among its activities, the group works with industry partners, business leaders and renowned nonprofits to develop panels, educational discussions and networking events.

There are only a few days left to participate! See you there!
