OPENINGS: Club Pilates Tribeca (8.13.18)

The latest fitness entry in the Tribeca sweat scene is Club Pilates Tribeca, which touts low-impact, full-body workouts and a slew of different classes to keep it interesting. We spoke with, Angelo Acquista, Co-Owner of Club Pilates Tribeca, to learn more about the studio and what you can expect...

Tell us about Club Pilates Tribeca...What inspired you to open a Club Pilates in Tribeca?

I always had a particular appeal of the Lower West Side. Even though I'm from Queens I remember jumping on buses and subways during my high school years just to come hangout down here. So I guess you can say there is some sentimentality to me choosing to opening down here, but the main reason was that I had a good understanding that the residence of Tribeca find fitness a very important element in their lives and I wanted to be able to bring that to them, but in an environment that will make them strong all while keeping them in a low impact zone while they workout.

What can locals expect when they visit?

So when locals come they can expect to find a clean and brand new studio, filled with 12 of everything. And what I mean by that is we have 12 reformers, 12 springboards, 12 Bosu Balls, 12 TRX's, 12 magic circles...basically 12 of every apparatus that you see in the studio. We do this so that when members come to class everyone has what they need and all they need to think about is having a great workout. And speaking of workouts, we have 6 different styles of classes to keep things fresh, and varying levels for each style of class just so that anyone at any fitness level can come in and enjoy a workout.

What is coming up for the studio this year?

What's coming for this studio would be an even broader schedule for more class times and the inclusion of all the class styles.

What are your favorite local spots?

While I'm still pretty new to Tribeca itself, I really like to be by the water so Pier 25 looks like a great spot to visit. I would also really want to try out the Takahachi Bakery, and basically any spots that are recommended to me.
