WEEK AHEAD: Everything Going On Below Canal Street (1.25.18)

Welcome to this week's edition of Week Ahead, your rundown on everything going on below Canal Street this weekend and coming week. We’ve vetted and collected the best events (many are FREE!) for you on the Life Below Canal calendar. Here are a few of our favorite events/activities coming up...

-Thursday 1/25 - Storytime (FREE) - Designed for children ages 0 to 4, the museum's wonderful storyteller has stories and songs to share. Feel free to bring friends and come make new ones. 

-Thursday 1/25 - First Entrepreneur: How George Washington Built His-and the Nation’s- Prosperity (Tickets Required) - Edward Lengel provides a look at how George Washington’s entrepreneurship and understanding of money informed his leadership as a general and president, and helped set the United States on the road to prosperity.

-Friday 1/26 - Winter Games (FREE) - Keep active outdoors and play soccer, flag-football, hockey and more; organized by Ballfields staff or play on your own. Equipment provided. For ages 7 and older.

-Saturday 1/27 - Saturday Morning Show (FREE) - Everyone's favorite free kids show is back at Brookfield Place's Hudson Eats!

-Tuesday 1/30 - Pictures Under the Palms (FREE) - Cozy up and unwind with your favorite films under the palm trees inside the Winter Garden! This week is Mamma Mia!. Free popcorn and comfy seats provided - arrive early! Seating opens at 5:15PM (with a DJ set) for a 7PM screening and is available on a first come, first served basis.

-Sea Of Light - Sea of Light is an immersive sensory adventure activated by movement and sound at the Seaport. Open through March 2018. Check out our post on it here.

-Sunset, Sunrise (Revolution) (FREE) - This temporary public art installation at Pier A Plaza is an interactive, large-scale sculpture designed specifically for the site. It consists of 27 aluminum panels embedded with 9,000 crystal prisms activated by natural light, and is based on a previous, three-panel installation in Austin, Texas, titled Hyperprism. The artwork will be on view through the summer of 2018 in front Pier A Harbor House, located at 22 Battery Place and the Hudson River.
