Welcome to this week's edition of Week Ahead, your rundown on everything going on below Canal Street this weekend and coming week. We’ve vetted and collected the best events (many are FREE!) for you on the Life Below Canal calendar. Here are a few of our favorite events/activities coming up...

-Thursday 3/1 - Best Brews Of NYC (FREE) - Enjoy the best breweries from the 5 NYC boroughs as the Winter Garden transforms into a Winter Biergarten with new brews featured on tap each week! 100% of all beer sales will be donated to New Yorkers for Parks' mission to build, protect, and promote parks and open spaces throughout New York City. 

-Thursday 3/1 - Storytime (FREE) - Storytime is for children ages 0 to 4. Their wonderful storyteller has stories and songs to share. Feel free to bring friends and come make new ones.

-Friday 3/2 - Truth Be Told (TICKETS NEEDED) - Truth Be Told is a 90-minute, interactive evening of mentalism and mind reading unlike anything you have ever experienced. Watch in wonder as world-renowned entertainer Oz Pearlman (as seen on America's Got Talent, The Today Show, ESPN, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) performs mind-bending, impossible feats right before your eyes. 

-Saturday 3/3 - Saturday Morning Show (FREE) - Everyone's favorite free kids show is back at Brookfield Place's Hudson Eats!

-Saturday 3/3 - The Craft Studio Grand Opening (FREE) - Check out Tribeca's newest creative outlet, featuring free events and swag all day long

-Saturday 3/3 - Beauty & Balance (FREE - RSVPs needed for each event) - Join the party in the Oculus featuring Free Yoga and Meditation, Makeup and Skincare Demos, Food & Drink Sampling.

-Sunday 3/5 - JCP Purim Carnival (Tickets Needed) - Offering plenty of family fun.

Don’t forget about these ongoing exhibits to check out:

-Black Gotham Experience - Now through March 15th, witness the visual storytelling project highlighting the profound connection between the African Diaspora and New York City, as photographic artist Kamau Ware shares his celebration of New York’s Black heritage with Seaport District NYC (192 Front Street). Experience a series of walking tours, graphic novels, film screenings, and workshops in an exhibition of New York’s Black heritage.

-Sea Of Light - Sea of Light is an immersive sensory adventure activated by movement and sound at the Seaport. Open through March 2018. Check out our post on it here.

-Sunset, Sunrise (Revolution) (FREE) - This temporary public art installation at Pier A Plaza is an interactive, large-scale sculpture designed specifically for the site. It consists of 27 aluminum panels embedded with 9,000 crystal prisms activated by natural light, and is based on a previous, three-panel installation in Austin, Texas, titled Hyperprism. The artwork will be on view through the summer of 2018 in front Pier A Harbor House, located at 22 Battery Place and the Hudson River.
