Welcome to Week Ahead, your rundown on everything going on below Canal Street this weekend and coming week. We’ve vetted and collected the best events (many are FREE!) for you on the Life Below Canal calendar.

Here are a few of our favorites coming up over the weekend:

-Thursday 9/28 (FREE) - Life Below Canal Meet Up! (1st of MANY!) - Looking to meet your neighbors or make a new parent friend, dog-loving friend, drinking buddy, or simply another downtown enthusiast? Please join us at our first Life Below Canal Meetup at Eataly Downtown! We will be located at Foodiversita (adjacent to the olive oil section), and you can purchase drinks & snacks at the bar!

 

-Friday 9/29 (FREE) -Snoopy & Belle In Fashion (FREE) - Closing Sunday, style icons Snoopy and his sister Belle are featured in this exhibition of couture creations crafted exclusively for the beloved beagles from the Peanuts comic strip by the world’s foremost designers.

-Sunday (10/1) - Big City Fishing (FREE) - Adults and kids aged 5+ learn how to fish while engaging with trained environmental educators about river science topics. We provide the rods, reels and instruction.       

-Tuesday (10/3) - Happy Hour: Pour At Four - Every Tuesday at 4pm at Le District’s Bar A Vin they open a rare bottle of wine from Harry's private wine cellar and serve it by the glass. Pour at Four is a brilliant way of tasting some very rare wines for a very good price.

Don’t forget about these ongoing exhibits:

-Rock Paper Scissors (FREE) - Open until October 13th, “Rock Paper Scissors not only refers to the popular game enjoyed by children and adults the world over, but also to three fundamental materials and techniques in the making of visual art. The six contemporary artists in Rock Paper Scissors utilize aspects of all three materials and methods creating works of beauty and surprise.
